2.2    View Window

Use the SysMan Station View windows to display detailed information about a system or cluster and to provide a single location for system management tasks. View windows can be customized and more than one View window can be open at a time.

You can access a View by selecting one from the drop down View: list in any View window. The following views are provided:

FIELD

DESCRIPTION

Status_Monitor

Displays the Status_Monitor view. See Status_Monitor View window for more information.

AdvFS_Filesystems

Displays the AdvFS file system, its filesets, and file domains.

CAA_Applications_(all)
(available only when monitoring a cluster)

Displays the cluster and the CAA applications, which are registered on the cluster. If a CAA application is in a stopped, failed, or transition state, that application's icon will display a red circle with a red line through it.

For more information, see the caa_register(8) reference page.

CAA_Applications_(active)
(available only when monitoring a cluster)

Displays the cluster, the cluster members, and any CAA applications, which are running on the cluster. Each CAA application that is running is displayed as the child of the cluster member on which it is running. CAA applications that are in a stopped, failed, or transition state are displayed with a red circle with a red line through it.

For more information, see the caa_start(8) reference page.

Hardware

Displays the hardware on the system or cluster.

Mounted_Filesystems

Displays the mounted file systems and maps the mounted file systems to disk partitions.

Physical_Filesystems

Displays the physical file system, including the AdvFS and LSM file systems. Objects include subdisks, volumes, plexes, filesets and file domains.

A nonoptimal state in this view means a file system is not being served by a member that physically is connected to the disk. To make a file system optimal, relocate the file system using CFS Manager to a member that is physically connected to the disk.

For more information, see the cfsmgr(8) reference page.

Title Bar

Displays the following:
SysMan Station: View of <host_name> as: <username>

Use the title bar to determine which system you are monitoring and which user name you are using on that system if you are running multiple instances of SysMan Station on a UNIX workstation or PC.

View:

Displays a list of available views. You can select the name of a view to display it in the current window.

View Area

Displays all of the objects available in the selected view, except objects that have been hidden or grouped.

Objects

Object icons display the status of each of the objects. An object may have the following states:

Normal

The icon is displayed without a warning or error symbol.

Warning

The object icon is displayed with a yellow circle with a yellow line through it.

Failed

The object icon is displayed with a red circle with a red line through it. A failed object will not be hidden.

A CAA object may have the following states:

Running

The object is displayed with a green circle and clockwise arrow. The application is running on the cluster member.

Failed

The object is displayed with a red circle with a red line through it. The application failed.

Transition

The object is displayed with a yellow circle with a yellow line through it. The application is in the process of failing over on one cluster member and starting on another cluster member.

Stopped

The object is displayed with a yellow box. An application has stopped.

Each object has a right button pop-up menu available. See Object Pop-Up menu.

Any object can be hidden, except for the top-level entity. Children of a hidden object become children of the object's parent.
