2.4 Action Menu

The Action menu displays actions that can be performed on the selected object. The actions displayed will vary depending on the object selected.

The Action menu may contain any of the following items.

FIELD
DESCRIPTION

Expand
Displays the selected group's members or an object's children. Members or children that are contracted will remain contracted. This selection is dimmed if you have not selected a group or an object that has been contracted.

Expand All
Displays all of the selected group's members or an object's children. Members or children that are contracted will be displayed. This selection is dimmed if you have not selected a group or an object that has been contracted.

Contract
Hides all of the children of the selected parent object. This selection is dimmed if you have not selected a parent with visible children.

Hide
Conceals the selected objects or groups.

Group
Displays the Group dialog box to allow you to create a group from the selected objects. This selection is dimmed if you have not selected more than one object of the same type with the same parent.

Rename...
Displays the Rename dialog box to change the name of a selected group. This selection is dimmed when no group is selected.

Grouping Values...
Displays the Grouping Values dialog box to change the minimum number of objects that automatically will be grouped and the number of groups that will be created when a group is expanded.

Find Item...
Displays the Find Item dialog box to allow you to search for an object.

Unhide All
Displays any objects or groups that were previously hidden.

Show Entire System
Reveals all objects in the system. Objects that previously were hidden will be displayed. Objects that previously were grouped will be expanded. Children of objects that have been contracted will be displayed.

Properties...
Opens the Properties information box, which displays detailed information about the object selected, including its name, category, and details specific to that category.
