1.27    Connecting to a New Host

You can run multiple instances of SysMan Station on a UNIX platform or a PC to monitor more than one system. Existing connections remain open after connecting to a new host.

NOTE
When running SysMan Station in a Web browser, you only can monitor the Tru64 UNIX system that is serving you the Compaq Insight Manager Web page. See Opening SysMan Station.

To connect to an additional host, do the following:

  1. Select New Connection... from the File menu. The New Connection dialog box is displayed.

  2. Enter the host name.

    NOTE
You must have an account on the host to open a new connection. The SysMan Station Server, smsd, and Authentication Server, smauthd, must be running on the host. To restart the daemons:
    /sbin/init.d/smsd restart
    /sbin/init.d/smauthd restart

  3. Select OK.
