<H4>SYNOPSIS</H4>

<DT><B>booksAdmin</B> [ -force ] [ -v ] <I>metashelf</I>_<I>path</I></DT>

<H4>DESCRIPTION</H4>
     <P><I>booksAdmin</I> updates the <A HREF="/cgi-bin/infosrch.cgi?cmd=getdoc&db=man&fname=1%20infosearch">infosearch(1)</A> master index to remove and/or add
     references and data related to online books. Content removed
     and/or added to the master index coincides with what data exists in your
     <A HREF="/cgi-bin/infosrch.cgi?cmd=getdoc&db=relnotes&fname=insight_base">online
     books</A> library (referenced by <I>metashelf</I>_<I>path</I>) on
     the local system.</P>

     <P>By default, <I>booksAdmin</I> (with no arguments specified)
     will remove references to documents (online books) within the
     index that are not found on your system, and add to the index
     references to those documents found on your system that are not
     currently a part of the index (or are different than what is
     currently stored in the index).</P>

     <P><I>booksAdmin</I> is executed as part of the
     <A HREF="/cgi-bin/infosrch.cgi?cmd=getdoc&db=man&fname=1%20sgindexAdmin">sgindexAdmin(1)</A> program.
     Examine the <A HREF="/cgi-bin/infosrch.cgi?cmd=getdoc&db=man&fname=1%20sgindexAdmin">sgindexAdmin(1)</A> man page for more details.

     <P>The default <I>metashelf</I>_<I>path</I> is <TT>/usr/share/Insight/library/SGI_bookshelves.</TT></P>

     <P><I>booksAdmin</I> must be run as root in order to modify the indices.</P>

     <P>Command line options are described below.</P>

<DD>	  Creates the master index entirely; uses existing word files. See
	  <A HREF="/cgi-bin/infosrch.cgi?cmd=getdoc&db=man&fname=1%20dtl2sgft">dtl2sgft(1)</A> for more information.</DD>

<DD>	      Report any status messages or errors to stdout and/or stderr.</DD>
