NAME
MAR1KP - Physical layer (PHY) driver for Marvell 88E1000 Gigabit PHYceiv-
     er

SYNOPSIS
     mar1kp* at wx? phy ?

DESCRIPTION
The mar1kp driver supports the Marvell 88E1000/88E1000S 'Alaska' series
of gigabit PHYceivers for 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 1000BASE-T Ethernet.
This device driver is called upon by network device drivers; no direct
     administrative control is provided.

The ifconfig(8) command in conjunction with the device driver making us-
ing of this drivers services provides an administrative interface that
allows various physical level parameters (such as duplex, speed, and
     loopback) to be controlled.

The 88E1000 supports NWay automatic speed, duplex and flow control nego-
tiation, as well as automatic speed detection for hubs that do not sup-
     port the NWay FLP protocol.

As 1000BASE-T requires autonegotiation, it is not possible to select this
media type manually; the only wau to use 1000BASE-T is to select autone-
     gotiation.

The 88E1000 also supports automatic crossover cabling resolution when au-
     tonegotiation is selected.
