To make the Tru64 UNIX Documentation Library available for browsing, your system administrator must mount the Tru64 UNIX Documentation CD-ROM on the /usr/share/doclib/online directory. Mounting the CD-ROM in this location will overlay the temporary page you are now reading with the complete Tru64 UNIX Documentation Library home page, which contains links to the base operating system's books in HTML and PDF formats and to the reference pages in HTML.
Included on the documentation CD-ROM are two tools that can extend your ability to use the documentation:
isearch Web-based full-text search engine for the Tru64 UNIX HTML documentation. Your system administrator must install isearch. When the CD-ROM is mounted as described in the preceding paragraph, webman and instructions for installing it will be available in the /usr/share/doclib/online/DOCS/HTML/isearch directory.
webman Web viewer for the Tru64 UNIX reference pages that are installed on your system. Your system administrator must install webman. When the CD-ROM is mounted as described in the preceding paragraph, webman and instructions for installing it will be available in the /usr/share/doclib/online/DOCS/HTML/webman directory.
Note
Before you can use isearch or webman, your system must be configured as a World Wide Web server. It is not necessary to keep the documentation CD-ROM mounted in order to use webman, but isearch requires that the CD-ROM be mounted or that the HTML documentation and the search database be copied to your system's hard disk.
For complete information on the printed versions of the Tru64 UNIX documentation set, see the Documentation Overview. The descriptions in the Documentation Overview include order numbers for the full documentation kit and its subkits and for the Reference Pages kit.
