<h4>DESCRIPTION</h4>
<P>This control panel enables the user to set
parameters for accessing the web via dirview and to control
some aspects of the builtin html content viewer using the the VkWebViewer
component. Applications which this control panel effects include:</P>

<LI>Software Manager
<LI>EZsetup
<LI>Out of Box Experience
<LI>Infosearch
<LI>SgiHelp

<P>
There are three tabs in the controlpanel. The first tab,
<I>Viewer</I>, containes the minimal features of VkWebViewer which
can be modified using the control panel. The second tab,
<I>Caching and Fetching</I>, controls the location of the cache for
web objects and other parameters related to the cache and connections.
The last tab is <I>Network</I> that allows the user to specify proxy and
socks information.</P>
<P>
The controlpanel maintains modification state. If nothing has been modified,
the user may exit quietly via either the file menu or the window manager menu.
If any field has been modified, the program will remind the user to save
information before exiting. On exiting, if any information has been modified,
a reminder is posted to restart apropriate applications.</P>

<h4>NOTES</H4>
<P>The control panel enables the user to control only some aspects of the
webviewer and websupport libraries. Note that by default the websupport
library gets its information from Netscape's preference files (if available),
and the control panel will also obtain information from there (limited to the
javascript based preference files found in Netscape 4 and later).</P>
