/usr/sysadm/privbin/formatRMedia -u -d device special file
DESCRIPTIONformatRMedia formats removable media with the following formats: XFS for
SGI workstations, EFS for SGI workstations, HFS for Apple Macintosh
computers, and FAT for MS DOS/Windows computers. It invokes mkfp to
format HFS and FAT filesystems, and fx and mkfs to format EFS and XFS
filesystems.
OPTIONS-d device special file
The file under /dev that the media is associated with
-f Selects an XFS format. This option should not be used on floppy or
floptical media.
-e Selects an EFS format. This option should not be used on floppy or
floptical media.
-m Selects an HFS (Macintosh) format. Valid on all media types.
-p Selects an FAT (MS DOS/Windows) format. Valid on all media types.
-l volume label
Supplies a volume label for a FAT disk.
-x Requests a low level format. Do not use with SyQuest, Jaz, PC Cards
or Zip drives.
-u Select a UDF format. This option should only be used on DVD-RAM.
