The NFS network lock manager
This topic describes the NFS® mechanisms used for locking files against
concurrent access by competing processes. The role of the Network Status
Manager in handling lock states within the inherently stateless
environment supplied by NFS is explained, as are the kernel-to-lock
manager requests making up the NFS locking protocol.
