The Hardware branch of the SysMan Menu lets you display information about the system hardware and lets you manage CPUs on the certain platforms.
View hardware hierarchy | Displays the current hardware component hierarchy in the hardware management subsystem. |
View cluster | Displays the current cluster hierarchy and the hardware component hierarchy of each cluster member. This option is only available on a cluster. |
View device information | Displays the device hardware ID, device name, model and location. |
View central processing unit (CPU) information |
Displays CPU (processor) information. The system processors are identified by number and reported either as on line or off line. If on line, the processor speed is also reported. |
Manage CPUs | Enables the system administrator to add or remove a CPU on certain platforms without having to shut down the entire system. You can take the CPU off line and then turn the power off to replace the CPU. Other CPUs and devices in the system remain on line and functional. The Manage CPUs application also can be used to obtain the ID, Status, and duration since a CPU has been in a particular state. For additional information, see Manage CPUs. |
