SysMan provides a graphical user interface to all system management applications required to install and configure your system.
The applications used for installing and configuring your system are as follows:
Full Installation Setup | Full Installation Setup is invoked by shutting down the system to console mode and booting from the Version 5.1B distribution media. A full installation creates new file systems and swap space and overwrites existing system and user created files on the disk partitions where the file systems and swap spaces are to be installed. You have the option to use preset default values for the disk layout and swap space allocation or to completely customize these things. Before beginning a full installation, you should refer to the Installation Guide because it contains a more in-depth discussion of the Full Installation process. Install Update | A Version 5.1B Installation Update updates your operating system from Tru64 UNIX Version 5.1 or 5.1A to Tru64 UNIX Version 5.1B. The update installation procedure preserves disk partitions, file system layouts, file customizations, printer and network configurations, user accounts, user files, and any other system setup you may have done. Base operating system and worldwide language support (WLS) software subsets that are already installed on your Version 5.1 or 5.1A system are updated to Version 5.1B. In addition, any mandatory base or WLS software subsets that were introduced in Version 5.1B are installed automatically. To start Update Installation, shut down the system to single user

Update Installation Cleanup | Use Update Installation Cleanup to remove or archive the backed-up files created by an Update Installation. NOTE: If your system has not been updated, the utility will be present but you will not be able to invoke it. Update Installation Cleanup is available on the SysMan Menu.
