What once was a great and thriving casino and bar, run by the most powerful and ruthless mafia Family in the history of Reno, is now a broken and burned-out husk of a building.
The Desperado had been the headquarters for the Mordino family, right on Virgin street and close to Bishop territory. Gambling, drinking, and all manners of illicit activity went on there... and upstairs, in the Mordino family offices, the Family's secrets went into effect. Lil Jesus Mordino himself was often moving around in the building and could be seen with a Jet-laced cigarette or bottle of beer, unsure whether he was going to clap you on the back or put a dagger through your face.
At the end of the city-wide Family and Gang war that ripped the city apart, at the end of 2262, a resounding explosion rocked Mordino territory. A feud with a very dangerous individual, known then as the Vindicator and now as Connor Massey, the Gunslinger, ended with the thought-to-be-deceased Massey setting explosives along the foundations and blowing the building sky-high.
Now, it sits as a corpse, a shadow of the once-powerful Mordinos. A crack runs through the massive structure where a fourth of the building sank into the sewer system, breaking away from the rest. The other 3/4 of it sags inwardly, and the entire thing shows blackened marks of a massive fire that ate away the interior.
A reminder that all power can be stripped away, that there is always someone bigger and better that can take you down... a reminder of what the Mordinos once were, and what the powers of the city are now... and a reminder that there are people in this city that, when pushed far enough, have the will and the way to push back. Hard.
