One of the purest fighting forms in the world is that using only your own body. You need no ammo, your weapons are always with you, and for some, it can be a spiritual experience. Anything from the ritualized Shi martial arts to the more brutal pit fighting, sports like boxing, and good old-fashioned street fighting, it never hurts to have a backup when your gun jams and your blade is just out of reach.

Rules

A Custom Unarmed skill will cost SXP, depending on how powerful it is. Unarmed specialists will get the Specialty discount.

Each skill will have a Base Damage. Then, you can add any number of Custom Skill Add-Ons, each which will give you an extra ability when using this style and will add to the cost of the skill. You may also choose any number of Flaws, which will give you disadvantages when using this skill, but it will lower the cost of the skill. The minimum skill cost is 500 SXP.

You can later add Custom Add-Ons or Flaws to your style as you become more skilled with it. You will never get back SXP for adding a Flaw; instead, it can be used to off-set the cost of adding another Add-On. You can later "buy off" a Flaw by paying double the cost of the Flaw to remove it. You can't remove Add-Ons.

You cannot use unarmed weapons (brass knuckles, Power Fists, etc.) when using a Custom Unarmed skill, except if you have the custom add-on that allows you to.

You are considered to be using this style during any round in which you're attacking with it (or defending, as the case may be) and the round after. So, if you attack in Round 1 with the skill, and then defend in Round 2 but don't specifically use the skill, you are still considered using the skill during Round 2.

For now, you will need to contact GMLoki to purchase a Custom Unarmed skill.

Step 1

The first step will be to choose a base style. This is the general category of unarmed fighting form that your particular style comes from. Each style has its advantages and disadvantages; some will be more focused on dealing more damage with each hit, while others will be more focused on skill-based fighting. Let's say Sally wants to learn Crane Style Kung Fu. She would then choose Kung Fu as her base style. Charlie, on the other hand, is a big fan of Muay Thai, so his base style is Kickboxing. See below for all the various styles.

Step 2

The next step is to choose a name for your particular style. For example, "Crane Style Kung Fu" or "Muay Thai" are specific styles that Sally and Charlie want to learn.
