    The Write Characters to a Virtual Display routine writes
    characters in a virtual display with the text you specify.

    Format

      SMG$PUT_CHARS  display-id ,text [,start-row]

                     [,start-column] [,flags] [,rendition-set]

                     [,rendition-complement] [,character-set]
