  The TIMESTAMP predefined type is used in  conjunction  with  the
  GETTIMESTAMP  procedure  or  with  the  DATE  or TIME functions.
  GETTIMESTAMP initializes a variable of type TIMESTAMP; DATE  and
  TIME function results are of type TIMESTAMP.
