Library /sys$common/syshlp/mailhelp.hlb EXTRACT, Qualifiers, /APPEND  *Conan The Librarian (sorry for the slow response - running on an old VAX)

    Adds the selected message to the end of the specified file. If
    the file does not exist, Mail creates it. When you do not specify
    the /APPEND qualifier, Mail creates a new text file.
