MOUNT, Qualifiers, /UID

       /UID=n

    Optional. Default: -2.

Default UID if no UID mapping exists for file access.

    Restriction: Requires OPER privilege.

Both the NFS server and NFS client use the proxy database for
access control. Compaq strongly recommends that you provide a
proxy with a unique UID for every NFS client user.

If you need to provide universal access to world-readable files,
you can use the default UID to avoid creating a proxy for
every NFS client user. You should avoid using the default UID
if clients require additional file access; otherwise, client
users may see unpredictable and confusing results when they
try to create files. See the Compaq TCP/IP Services for OpenVMS
Management manual for a detailed discussion about using proxies,
the default user, and security considerations.
