Library /sys$common/syshlp/ncphelp.hlb CLEAR, LINE, NIF TARGET  *Conan The Librarian (sorry for the slow response - running on an old VAX)

 Applies only to FDDI lines.  Resets to its default value the NIF
 TARGET parameter in the volatile database.  Permanent database
 operations  cannot be performed on this parameter.
