ERASE_CHARACTER

 *Conan The Librarian (sorry for the slow response - running on an old VAX)

  Syntax:  ERASE CHARACTER

  Erases a single character from the current cursor position in the
  current direction.

  This command erases the next or previous character, depending on the
  current direction.  (Note that the "next character" is the character
  on which the cursor is positioned.)

     ERASE NEXT CHARACTER        RESTORE
