  EXPLANATION:  An invalid character was used in a constant.  Valid
  characters are:

     Hexadecimal:  0 - 9, A - F, a - f
     Octal:        0 - 7
     Binary:       0 - 1
     Radix-50:     A - Z, 0 - 9, $, period, or space

  For Radix-50, a space is substituted for the invalid character.
  For hexadecimal and octal, the entire constant is set to zero.
