 NAME

   uuid_create - Creates a new UUID

   Used by client, server, or management applications.

 SYNOPSIS

   #include <dce/uuid.h>

   void uuid_create( uuid_t *uuid,
                     unsigned32 *status );

 PARAMETERS

   Input

   None.

   Output

   uuid
       Returns the new UUID.

   status
       Returns the status code from this routine.  This status code
       indicates whether the routine completed successfully or, if not,
       why not.  The possible status codes and their meanings are as
       follows:

       uuid_s_ok  Success.

       uuid_s_getconf_failure
                  Cannot get network interface device configuration.

       uuid_s_no_address
                  Cannot get Ethernet hardware address.

       uuid_s_socket_failure
                  Cannot create socket.

 DESCRIPTION

   The uuid_create() routine creates a new UUID.

 RETURN VALUES

   No value is returned.
