Library /sys$common/syshlp/edthelp.hlb RANGE, DOT  *Conan The Librarian (sorry for the slow response - running on an old VAX)

 The dot (.) is a single line range that refers to the current line of
 text. For many commands, dot is the default range.  See the help text
 for a command if you are unsure of the default.

 Ex: TYPE .    Display the current line.
