Using Application Qualifiers

  By default, the Session Manager runs applications using a set
  of default qualifiers.  To change the way DECwindows runs
  your applications, select the Session Manager's Applications
  menu and choose the ellipsis (...)  next to the application you
  want to run.  The Session Manager displays the Application's
  Qualifier dialog box.

  From the Application's Qualifier dialog box, you can change
  the following settings:

  Run Application:  When you start an application, by default
  the application runs as a subprocess of the Session Manager's
  process and shares its quotas and environment.  To run an
  application as a detached process, click on the Detached radio
  button.  Display Parameters:

  You can change the following application display parameters:

  -   Node

  -   Transport

  -   Server

  -   Screen
