Selecting Part of a Recording

  Before using the Edit menu, you must select the part of the
  recording that you want to modify.  Select part of a recording
  by dragging MB1 across the recording.  DECsound highlights
  the selected part of the recording.

  When you select part of a recording, you can extend the
  selection by pressing the Shift key while dragging MB1.  You
  can select an entire recording by choosing   Select All  from
  the Edit menu.  For more information about editing and      Edit
