Setting the Alarm
You can use the alarm to remind you of appointments.
To set the alarm:
1. Choose Alarm... from the Options menu or double click
MB1 anywhere in the window (except in the menu bar
or the title bar). You see the Alarm Options dialog box.
2. Click on the Alarm Enable check button to switch
the alarm on. The alarm is on if the check button is
highlighted.
3. Click on the left-hand entry box, the hour entry box.
Enter the hour (in either standard or military format) at
which you want the alarm to activate. Then, click on the
right-hand entry box, the minute entry box, and enter
the minutes.
If you set the hour and minutes in standard format, click
MB1 on the AM or PM radio button. If you want to
set the hours using military format (1300 hours to 2400
hours), the 24 Hour Digital Time entry box must be on in
the Display Options dialog box.
4. When you set the alarm by clicking on OK in the Alarm
Options dialog box, an alarm bell appears in the Clock
window to indicate that the alarm is set. When the alarm
goes off, a message appears in a pop-up window.
5. Click on the Alarm Message entry box. Enter the alarm
message you want to display. The alarm message can
contain up to 200 characters.
6. Click MB1 on the Keyboard Bell check button if you want
the bell to sound when the alarm goes off.
7. Click MB1 to highlight the Sound File check button if you
want to play a sound file when the alarm goes off. If so:
* Press MB1 on the Output options menu and select
Headphones or Speaker depending on where you
want the sound file to be heard.
* Press MB1 on the volume slider and drag it to the
right or left to the desired loudness.
* Click MB1 on the Sound File... push button. This
brings up a file selection dialog box from which you
can select a sound file. Click MB1 on a sound file and
click the OK button.
* At this point, you can click MB1 on the Play
pushbutton to preview the sound file. Clicking on
the Stop pushbutton stops the preview.
* The selected sound file will play when the alarm goes
off.
8. Click on OK to use your settings, or click on Cancel to
cancel your changes.
