NAME
       vms-system -  OpenVMS Operating System Differences

DIFFERENCES
       Although	 the OpenVMS and UNIX operating systems share many common con‐
       cepts, they are 2 distinct operating systems.

       The semantic differences in the vms-system(5) category are a result  of
       these differences.  For example, the syntax and attributes of files are
       different on the 2 system as are numbers used  to  identify  users  and
       groups.	 Functions  in this category take and return a different range
       of values on the 2 systems.
