NAME
vms-files - OpenVMS File System Differences

DIFFERENCES
OpenVMS	file system is based on RMS rather than the traditional UNIX
model. At the system service level, these file systems have both dif‐
ferent features and very different APIs.

To support writing applications that run on both UNIX systems and Open‐
VMS, the OpenVMS runtime libraries include functions that support the C
I/O model and a number of UNIX system calls. Differences still exist
and are described by this category, vms-files(5). These differences
include the syntax of file names.
