NAME
rdate - set system date from a remote host

SYNOPSIS
       /usr/ucb/rdate hostname

DESCRIPTION
rdate sets the local	date and time from the hostname given as the
argument. You must be super-user on the local system. On typical UNIX
systems, rdate	is often inserted as part of the /etc/rc.local startup
script.	NEXTSTEP systems instead typically use the network time
       synchronization daemon ntpd(8).
