NAME
       psmctd- Peripheral Status Client/Target daemon

SYNOPSIS
DESCRIPTION
The daemon is used to monitor the state of resources from EMS monitors.
Resources are recognized by having an appropriate configuration file,
of the format of monitor_name.psmcfg file	in the /var/stm/con‐
       fig/tools/monitor directory.

will create a /var/stm/data/psm_data file which has the list of all the
resources and their current state. The user can use the Peripheral
Status Monitor, psmmon(1m), to monitor the information in this file.
In addition, the Resource State Tool, set_fixed(1m), can also be used
to access this information and to set states of certain resources.

Only those resources whose state control is listed as NO_STATE_CONTROL
by can be set to the UP state to the UP state by the set_fixed(1m) com‐
       mand.

is launched at boot by the diagmond(1m) daemon.	In addition, can be
shutdown and restarted by using the Support Tools Manager, stm(1m).
Care should be taken, however, when shutting down this	daemon	is it
will cause the psmmon(1m) to return errors for future requests for
state information, which may cause package failure if ServiceGuard is
currently monitoring a resource recognized by thru the psmmon(1m) moni‐
       tor.
