DESCRIPTION
is a dynamic tunable that limits the maximum number of	processes per
user. Only root can have more than the number of processes limited by

Who is Expected to Change This Tunable?
System administrators can change the value of depending on the usage of
       the system.

   Restrictions on Changing
       None. This tunable is dynamic.

When Should the Value of This Tunable Be Raised?
The value of should be changed if users	require more processes than
what they are currently allowed by If fails with an error value of it
could be an indication that was reached by that particular user. How‐
ever, that is	not the only reason that could cause to fail with an
errno value of may be returned if system tunable has been reached or
memory on the system has been exhausted.

What Are the Side Effects of Raising the Value?
Raising the value of allows a single user to consume a greater percent‐
       age of the system resources.

When Should the Value of This Tunable Be Lowered?
The value of should be lowered when individual users are monopolizing
system resources by running too many concurrent processes.

What Are the Side Effects of Lowering the Value?
Applications that depend on a large number of processes may behave dif‐
ferently or fail. Existing processes will continue to run but new
process creations which would result in the user exceeding will fail.

What Other Tunable Values Should Be Changed at the Same Time?
