lxc-shutdown(1) lxc-shutdown(1)

NAME
lxc-shutdown - externally shut down or reboot a container

SYNOPSIS
       lxc-shutdown {-n name} [-w] [-r]

DESCRIPTION
lxc-shutdown sends a SIGPWR signal to the specified container to re‐
quest it to cleanly shut down. If [-w] is specified, then lxc-shutdown
will wait until the container has shut down before exiting. If [-r] is
specified, the container will be asked to reboot (using a SIGINT sig‐
nal), and [-w] will be ignored. If the container ignore these signals,
then nothing will happen. In that case, you can use lxc-stop to force
       the container to stop.

COMMON OPTIONS
These options are common to most of lxc commands.

       -?, -h, --help
Print a longer usage message than normal.

       --usage
	      Give the usage message

       -q, --quiet
	      mute on

       -P, --lxcpath=PATH
Use an alternate container path. The default is /var/lib/lxc.

       -o, --logfile=FILE
Output to an alternate log FILE. The default is no log.

       -l, --logpriority=LEVEL

Possible values are : FATAL, CRIT, WARN,	ERROR,	NOTICE, INFO,
	      DEBUG.

Note that this option is setting the priority of the events log
in the alternate log file. It do not have effect	on the ERROR
	      events log on stderr.

       -n, --name=NAME
Use container identifier NAME. The container identifier format
	      is an alphanumeric string.
