NAME
       lookupd - lookup daemon

SYNOPSIS
       lookupd

DESCRIPTION
The lookupd daemon is used in conjunction with NetInfo to speed up
       system lookups.

lookupd	is normally started by the	/etc/rc file. All lookupd
configuration options are read from NetInfo. See the on-line release
       notes for details.

lookupd writes a file with its process ID number (pid file) in
/etclookupd.pid. Note	that it is not possible to restart lookupd
       without rebooting the system.

FILES
       /etc/lookupd.pid
