LOGIN_RPASSWD(8) BSD System Manager's Manual LOGIN_RPASSWD(8)

NAME
     login_rpasswd - remote password authentication

SYNOPSIS
     login_rpasswd [-s service] user [class]

DESCRIPTION
The login_rpasswd utility implements a standard password authentication
mechanism. Unlike login_passwd(8), the user to be authenticated need
not have an account on the local machine.	This allows standard password
authentication via a remote protocol, such as done by radiusd(8),	with-
out having to give the user an account on the server machine. The user
argument is the users name to be authenticated.
