NAME
khostname - Displays the fully qualified domain name required for
building principal names and configuration files

SYNOPSIS
       /krb5/bin/khostname [hostname]

OPERAND
Displays the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the specified system
hostname. Any aliases are resolved to the host name.

DESCRIPTION
The khostname command returns the fully qualified domain name required
for building principal	names and configuration files. The names
returned by khostname are used in the krb.conf and krb.realms files.

Host names are a critical element in a Kerberos Single Sign-On (SSO)
environment. Host names are used to build principal names. Principal
names must match exactly across the network for SSO to work correctly.
