NAME
       isfdtype - Test a file descriptor for a specific file type

SYNOPSIS
       #include <sys/stat.h>

       int isfdtype(
	       int filedes,
	       int fd_type );

LIBRARY
       Standard C Library (libc)

STANDARDS
       The isfdtype function supports POSIX.1g Draft 6.6.

       Refer  to  the  standards(5)  reference page for more information about
       industry standards and associated tags.

PARAMETERS
       Specifies the file descriptor to be tested.  Specifies the file type to
       test  for.  Valid  file	types  are defined in the <sys/mode.h> include
       file.

DESCRIPTION
       The isfdtype() function tests whether a file descriptor has a  specific
       file type.

RETURN VALUES
       Upon  successful completion, the isfdtype() function returns a 1 if the
       file descriptor has the specific file type or a 0  (zero)  if  it  does
       not.  If	 the  isfdtype() function fails, a value of -1 is returned and
       errno is set to indicate the error.

ERRORS
       If the isfdtype() function fails, errno may be  set  to	the  following
       value: The filedes parameter is not a valid file descriptor.
