event or to delete an event

The options and are mutually exclusive.	These options can be used with
       other switches such as and

   Options
The command supports the following options:

Specifies the age of an event.
The age consists of a number and the unit of age. The possible
	      values for unit are:

	      years
	      months
	      days
	      hours

Specify an argument (a number followed by its unit) for the
switch.	Use a	colon to separate the number and its unit.
Alternatively, you can specify the complete argument within dou‐
	      ble quotes.

Following are the examples for using the option:

	      ·

The following two commands have the same meaning:

	      ·
	      ·

Specifies the location from which the events must be fetched. The
       default value is current.
Using the current value enables you to fetch events from the
current event archive. The current event archive contains events
that are recently generated. The history event archive contains
old and archived events. The policy for moving the events from
current to history event archive is available in the configura‐
tion file. The configuration file also describes the policy to
delete the events from the history event archive.

       Deletes an event.
Use the option to delete one or more events from the Event Ar‐
chive. You can use the following switches with the option:

	      ·
	      ·
	      ·
	      ·
	      ·
	      ·

Following are the examples of the options:

	      ·
	      ·
	      ·
	      ·

Specifies the severity level of an event that is used as a part of the
       search criteria.
A search is initiated either to view information about an event
	      or to delete an event.

Use an operator followed by the severity value to represent the
severity level. The following operators can be used:

	      equal to (default)
	      not equal to
	      less than or equal to
	      greater than or equal to
	      between

The default value of operator is You must use only one operator
	      at a time.

To use the operator, you must specify the lower and upper sever‐
ity levels. For all other operators, you must specify only one
	      severity level.

The severity level ranges from to where is least severe and is
most severe. Following lists the severity levels in ascending
	      order of severity:

	      Unknown
	      Normal
	      Other
	      Information
	      Warning
	      Minor
	      Major
	      Critical

Use a colon to separate an operator and a severity level. Use a
comma to separate two severity levels.

You can also use a space to separate an operator and a severity
level. However, in this case, you should enclose the operator
and severity values within double quotes.

You must specify only one switch in a command.	Following are
	      the examples of the option:

	      ·

The following two commands have the same meaning:

The summary is extracted from the Event Archive	based on the
search criteria. You can use the following switches with the
	      option:

operation, if the number of events in the summary list is large,
use the and switches to specify the number of events in the sum‐
mary list. Use the switch to define the offset and the switch
to specify the number of events in the summary list. For exam‐
ple, assume that there are 200 events in the summary list. To
view the first twenty events, specify an offset of zero	and a
count equal to 20, as follows:

To view the next set of twenty events specify:

To use this switch, type an operator followed by a
string. Use a colon to separate the operator and
the string. Enclose the entire argument (operator
and string) within double quotes. You can use the
switch more than once	within one command. The
following operators can be used with the switch:

event description is exactly the same as the given
	      string
event description begins with the given string
event description ends with the given string
event description contains the given string
	      (default)

Following are the examples of the option:

	      ·
	      ·

       order
(ascending or descending) and column name. You
can use switch only with the command. By default,
the summary list is displayed in ascending order
Use a colon to separate the sorting order and the
summary column. Alternatively, you can use a
space in between the sort order and the summary
column, and enclose the entire string within dou‐
	      ble quotes.

Following are the examples of the option:

operators can be used with the switch.

	      equal to
	      less than equal to
	      greater than equal to
	      between

Only one operator can be used at one time.

To use the operator, specify the lower and upper
date-time values. For all other operators, you
must specify only one date-time value. The format
to specify date-time value is mm:dd:yyyy:hh:mi:ss.
The date-time value are defined as:

	      mm month

	      yyyy year
	      hh hour
	      mi minute
	      ss second

Use a colon to separate an operator and a date-
time value. Use a comma to separate two date-time
values.	Alternatively, you can specify an opera‐
tor and a date-time value within double quotes.
You must specify only one switch in a command.

Following are the examples of the option:

	      ·
