NAME
       dvd-ram-control - Control DVD-RAM disk modes and protection

SYNOPSIS
       dvd-rw-control [-arre] [-awre] [-rdonly|-rdwr] /dev/dvd

DESCRIPTION
       The  dvd-ram-control command controls DVD-RAM disk modes of block real‐
       locations and write protections. This utility will work only with  DVD-
       RAM recorders.

OPTIONS
       -arre  Sets  automatic  read  reallocation  enabled  (ARRE) bit so that
	      automatic reallocation of defective data blocks is  used	during
	      read operation.

       -awre  Sets  automatic  write  reallocation  enabled (AWRE) bit so that
	      automatic reallocation of defective data blocks is  used	during
	      write operations.

       -rdonly
	      Makes disc to be write protected.

       -rdwr  Makes disc to be unprotected.
