CEIL(3) BSD Library Functions Manual CEIL(3)

NAME
     ceil — round to smallest integral value not less than x

SYNOPSIS
     #include <math.h>

     double
     ceil(double x);

     long double
     ceill(long double x);

     float
     ceilf(float x);

DESCRIPTION
     The ceil() functions return the smallest integral value greater than or
     equal to x.

SPECIAL VALUES
     ceil(0) returns 0.

     ceil(infinity) returns infinity.

VECTOR OPERATIONS
     If you need to apply the ceil() function to SIMD vectors or arrays, using
     the following functions provided by the Accelerate.framework may give
     significantly better performance:

     #include <Accelerate/Accelerate.h>

     vFloat vceilf(vFloat x);
     void vvceilf(float *y, const float *x, const int *n);
     void vvceil(double *y, const double *x, const int *n);

SEE ALSO
     floor(3), round(3), trunc(3), math(3)

STANDARDS
     The ceil() functions conform to ISO/IEC 9899:2011.
