software request for AIX 7

I hold the account 'gascon' at Polarhome's AIX 7 server. Thanks for the awesome service you provide.
If I might suggest some applications to be installed.

- a file manager: something like Midnight Commander, or Vifm, or why not Ytree or Unixtree;

- an e-mail client, something like Mutt

- a chat application, like Finch

- the Elinks web browser

Some of those are already installed just not in the PATH

please edit you .profile file and add the following lines

PATH=/opt/freeware/bin:/opt/freeware/mysql/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/java6/bin:$PATH
export PATH

Then you will have access to many tools like:
/opt/freeware/bin/mc
/opt/freeware/bin/lynx
/opt/freeware/bin/bash

I do not have anything against installing other programs either if they are available for AIX.

I'm using Midnight Commander now, it is a tool I was missing.
The e-mail application Mutt is available for AIX7. It can be downloaded from: http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/power/sof ... /date.html
I have a problem with the plain 'mail' application, namely that I cannot scroll the e-mail body one page at a time.

Do you think it is possible for Polarhome to install Mutt in the AIX7 system? Thank you very much.

mutt-1.4.2.1-1.aix5.1.ppc.rpm is installed

(and I do read the root mail )

Thank you very much for that prompt reaction. I'm enjoying using Mutt now on your IBM.
It's easier for me to e-mail you at the root account. But I imagine you prefer the forums as a means of communication.
And why not posting some recent pictures of the actual machine I'm using? That'd be awesome. That'd reduce the level of abstraction which a ssh user usually does.

Very soon I will post pictures - I just need to finish the migration to the new racks.
The servers are already there, but the cables and the management is not finished yet... but very soon your wish will be satisfied and you'll see your server
